On December 20, 2020, President Trump, with overwhelming support from both the Senate and the House of Representatives, enacted the Secure Act. The Secure Act makes major change to the rules for inherited IRAs, 401(k)'s, ROTHS, and other deferrable retirement accounts. If you have an existing IRA Stretch Trust as part of your plan, I strongly urge you to speak with your estate planning attorney immediately. The new law dramatically affects most IRA Stretch Trusts.
